WE'RE ALL HARD AT WORK BUILDING A NEW START.
Pending a return to normality, here's a quick note to set the record straight and take stock.
It's in times of adversity that people show their true colours.
On the one hand, you've got people doing everything in their power to get things back to normal as fast as humanly possible.
On the other, you've got people taking advantage of events, spreading completely unfounded rumours about the facility being relocated or even closed down altogether.
The J Colors group would like to address these rumours by clarifying that:
- the company, as we have already stated publicly, has no intention of moving or closing down the facility. Quite the opposite, we're going to extreme lengths to make the production site safe and get it up and running again ASAP.
- to make up for the shortfall in production, shifts at the Lainate facility outside Milan have been doubled temporarily, while a number of production lines have been set in motion at the Berlingo facility in the province of Brescia.
- 23 employees from Finale Emilia have volunteered to move to Lainate temporarily, to avoid being laid off in the interim, allowing the company to benefit from their valuable experience.
- temporary buildings have been installed in Finale Emilia to store materials ready for shipment.
- the damaged buildings are in the process of being restored. At the moment, the office area is back in operation.
- employees from all across the J Colors group have donated part of their salaries to the people affected by the earthquake and, with the aid of their colleagues from the Emilia region, will ensure the money goes to fund specific work.
